DEMAND FOR PROFESSIONAL COACHING GROWING IN CHINA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 25, 2014 – Scores of Shanghainese people interested in becoming professional coaches are registered for an October 25th workshop “Grow Yourself, Grow Your Clients, Grow Your Business!” that is designed to guide them in their efforts to launch coaching businesses. The workshop will be facilitated by Meryl Moritz, master global leadership coach and educator, visiting from New York.

With mandatory retirement ages of 52 and 56, for women and men respectively, many human resources and talent management professionals in China’s State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and multinationals are looking for ways to become more marketable as they approach retirement. Widespread interest in learning coaching skills or preparing for a career as a professional coach is evident by the sheer numbers of coach training programs that are springing up in the major metropolitan centers of Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing.

To demystify the process of becoming and thriving as a self-employed coach, the Shanghai Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF) is sponsoring a half day gathering from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Cypress Garden Hotel in the Changning district. Free to ICF-Shanghai members, the non-member registration fee is 100RMB.
