SHANGHAI COACHING COMES OF AGE-LOCAL CHAPTER TO SPONSOR COACHES VISION WORKSHOP WITH US COACHING EXPERT, MERYL MORITZ

By | Press Releases | No Comments

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OCTOBER 16, 2019 “China is enjoying rapid acceleration of professional coaching,” says Meryl Moritz, Master Certified Coach and 2019 Inductee to the International Coach Federation’s Circle of Distinction. “In less than five years, coaching went from being a largely unknown field of practice to a sought-after second or third career, as women and men come up against mandatory retirement age in the People’s Republic of China.” Thousands of young and maturing professionals have undergone coach training, earned global coaching certifications, but found it hard to attract paying clients to their budding practices. Moritz says, “The missing element in coaching’s huge popularity is the coach’s vision. Articulating one’s vision and then strategizing to achieve the vision incrementally is crucial.” ICF Shanghai will host an evening workshop from 7-8:30pm, entitled “Coaches Vision” with Meryl Moritz, Master Certified Coach and Chief Coaching Officer of Meryl Moritz Resources LLC, from New York. Moritz will bring her 25 years of coaching acumen to the discussion, inviting attendees to think big and act courageously. “Coaching is still in the early years in China. When I was first starting out, it was hard to get people to grasp what coaching was in the US. The same is true now in China. Vision keeps the coach on track and supplies the energy and focus to keep on plugging away, while educating the marketplace about coaching’s value.” For more information on Meryl Moritz, visit www.merylmoritzresources.com To register for the November 19th event, visit www.icfshanghaichapter.com. International Coach Federation Announces 2019 Circle of Distinction Inductees

Global association honors six coaches for significant contributions to and leadership in the profession.

Lexington, Kentucky, USA—The International Coach Federation (ICF) has announced the six coaches who will be inducted into its Circle of Distinction this year.

The ICF Circle of Distinction program celebrates the best of the coaching profession and ICF. Circle of Distinction members are experienced coach practitioners who have made their mark on ICF and the coaching profession. Last year, ICF inducted its inaugural Circle of Distinction class.

ICF CEO/Executive Director Magdalena Nowicka Mook unveiled the list of 2019 inductees in an October 3, 2019, video announcement.

The inductees are:

  • Wai K. Leong, MCC (Malaysia)
  • Patricia Mathews, MCC (USA)
  • Sue McMahon, PCC (USA)
  • Meryl Moritz, MCC (USA)
  • Marcia Reynolds, Psy.D., MCC (USA)
  • Dave Wondra, PCC (USA)

“As we look ahead to the 25th anniversary of ICF, which we will celebrate next year, we can reflect on the journey we’ve taken together,” Mook said. “Many of our members have been part of our global family for most of the last 24 years. They took part in early conversations about how to set high standards for our profession, brought coaching to life in regions of the world where it wasn’t practiced previously, and invested countless hours in training and developing new coaches, while also investing in their own continuous self-improvement. It’s an enormous privilege to celebrate six such coaches this year, as we prepare to welcome them into the Circle of Distinction.”

The 2019 Circle of Distinction inductees each received a complimentary registration and travel stipend to attend ICF Converge 2019, which will take place October 23–26, 2019, in Prague, Czech Republic. During the conference, the inductees will celebrate their achievements alongside their coaching peers from around the world.

A volunteer selection committee comprised of ICF coaches from around the world selected this year’s honorees from a pool of 16 nominations. They scored the nominations according to five criteria:

  • Contribution to and leadership in the coaching profession
  • Career achievement
  • Contributions to ICF
  • Thought leadership
  • Alignment with ICF’s core values

The selection committee included Damian Goldvarg, Ph.D., MCC; Zsofia Juhasz, PCC; Dr. Paras, MCC; Bill Pullen, MCC; and Anne Schweppenhauesser, MCC.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches across a variety of coaching disciplines. ICF is active in representing all facets of the coaching industry, including Executive, Life, Leadership, Relationship and Career Coaching. Its 32,000-plus members located in 138 countries work toward the common goal of enhancing awareness of coaching, upholding the integrity of the profession, and continually educating themselves with the newest research and practices.

BIG PICTURE COACHING FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT

On Sunday, October 28th, 2018, 13:30-15:30, the International Coach Federation (ICF) Shanghai chapter will host an afternoon workshop entitled Coaching for Maximum Impact. The event is designed for business decision makers, HR practitioners, and professional coaches to illuminate how coaching technology can have the greatest impact on organizational efficiency.

“Professional coaching has become a very popular development strategy for business people,” says Meryl Moritz, visiting organizational coaching expert from the United States, who will be the guest speaker. “However, the most effective coaching doesn’t focus only on the issue at hand but at the wide angle view, or big picture. Business people must make decisions by considering all the possible impacts and interdependencies on their department, their company, and their industry. Coaches must learn how to support their clients to have the ‘big picture’ view.”

She is a coaching pioneer who works with executives and teams on five continents and a coach educator who has trained the new generation of coaching in Europe, Asia and North America.

The venue for the workshop is Multi-function Hall, 1st Floor, Compaq Court Hotel, 2558 Yan’an West Road, Shanghai. Free for ICFS members; non-members pay RMB100.

Meryl Moritz is President of New York-based Meryl Moritz Resources LLC and a Master Certified Coach of the International Coach Federation.
